Hartville, Ohio — The Lake Township Chamber of Commerce (LTCC) has awarded $5,000 in Small Business Development Microgrants to member businesses. The LTCC made grant dollars available to small business owners in Lake Township to fund programs/projects to help grow or develop their businesses there. The purpose of this microgrant program was to follow the Chamber's mission of promoting the success and growth of businesses by reinforcing their achievements.
The LTCC received multiple grant applications totaling over $7,250 in funds requested. A committee of chamber members and board members reviewed the applications and approved awards supporting seven projects. Projects awarded include marketing, promotional materials, website development, equipment, and renovations. The following small businesses received Microgrant awards ranging from $300 to $1,000:
A Niche in Time
Angelique's Vintiques
Eatz & Treatz

The disbursement of all grant funds will occur on or before October 1, 2023, and funds must be spent by December 31, 2023. Per grant guidelines, grant funds awarded did not represent more than 50% of the total project cost for each recipient.
“The board and I are thrilled to have received so many applications for this inaugural Microgrant Program and are excited to be able to support our small businesses in such a practical way,” noted Chip Weisel, President. A second round of funding is anticipated in 2024.
