The Lake Township Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce its 2023 Lake Chamber Award (LCA) recipients. There will be awards presented in six categories, and the recipients will be honored at a banquet at The Hartville Kitchen on Tuesday, February 27, 2024. All recipients were nominated by their peers and selected by a committee of members. This event celebrates outstanding individuals and organizations and brings them together to be recognized among their peers, family, and friends.
"The slate of award recipients this year is a great representation of the businesses and organizations that make our Lake Township community so unique. The way that each of these recipients gives back to our community reflects the collaborative spirit that truly defines Lake Township," noted Chip Weisel, President. “We are thrilled to honor these well-deserving recipients at this time.”
The Outstanding Business Professional Award will go to Robert Miller, OD, in recognition of promoting excellent patient relations, offering quality services, demonstrating stability and longevity in his profession, and his consistent involvement and financial investment in the community over 30 years.
A new category, Outstanding Young Professional, was introduced this year. Katijo Makin, owner of Innovative Therapy Center, has been chosen to receive this award in recognition of her professional initiative, showing great promise in her industry, strong leadership characteristics, and involvement in the community.
The Christ Foundation has been chosen to receive the Community Impact Award in recognition of how it has become a key partner to many local non-profit organizations by providing much-needed financial support thereby helping others continue their missions.
Sean Miller will receive the Educator of the Year Award in recognition of all he has done to benefit his students and our community in his teaching role at Lake Center Christian School.
Larry Jenco will receive a Community Betterment Award in recognition of the significant investment he has made in our community through substantial renovations to the property at 344 Prospect Avenue South in downtown Hartville.
Craig Wellspring, owner of Hartville Elevator Co., will be presented with the Legacy Award in recognition of his lifetime of good business practices, outstanding character, and unfaltering community leadership. The Lifetime Achievement /Legacy Award has been given to an exclusive group of individuals who have contributed in a major way to the Lake Township community, including Howard Miller, Sr. (1999), Ellis Erb (2014), Marion Coblentz (2019), and most recently Howard Miller, Jr. and Wayne Miller (2022).

Registration and payment in advance are required for this event and the deadline to register is February 19, 2024. There is no walk-up registration and seating is limited.
