The Lake Township Chamber of Commerce Announces Award Recipients

HARTVILLE, OH — The Lake Township Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce its 2022 Lake Chamber Award (LCA) recipients. There will be awards in seven categories, with a total of 10 individuals representing seven organizations. The recipients will be honored at a banquet at The Hartville Kitchen on Tuesday, February 28, 2023. All recipients were nominated by their peers and selected by a committee of members.
The Outstanding Business Professional Award will be given to Phil Stauffer, Executive Director of The Hartville Thrift Shoppe, in recognition of promoting excellent customer and client relations, demonstrating stability and longevity in his industry, and his consistent involvement in the local community.
The LCA committee has selected Brian and Dale Karmie, owners of ForeverLawn as the recipients of the Chamber Impact Award in recognition of their significant donation of time and talent by hosting and teaching the Growing Your Business workshop series for our chamber members.
Ryan Moorhead has been selected for the Community Service Award in recognition of his Hometown Heroes Memorial project completed in December 2021 and dedicated in July 2022. This project demonstrates a significant act of community service, that united the community in a common goal, and raises awareness of our hometown heroes, fallen officers Captain Daniel Stiles and Officer Joshua Miktarian.
Daniel and Amanda Anschutz have been chosen to receive the Community Impact Award in recognition of reaching their five-year milestone as a non-profit organization. Compassion Delivered has contributed to the betterment of the Stark County area by providing nutritional meals to people who are coping with chronic, life-threatening illnesses and diseases.
Laurie Conway will receive the Educator of the Year Award in recognition of all she has done to benefit our community in her teaching role at Lake Middle/High School. Her unique talent for reaching learners of all ability levels coupled with the care and compassion that she shows to her students on a daily basis is remarkable among her peers.
Brianne Mangum will receive a Community Betterment Award in recognition of the significant investment she made in our community through substantial renovations to the property at 328 South Prospect Avenue in downtown Hartville.
Howard Miller, Jr. and Wayne Miller of Hartville Hardware will be presented with the Legacy Award in recognition of their lifetime of good business practices, outstanding character, and unfaltering community leadership. The Lifetime Achievement /Legacy Award has been given to an exclusive group of individuals who have contributed in a major way to the Lake Township community, including Howard Miller, Sr. (1999), Ellis Erb (2014), and most recently Marion Coblentz (2019).
"Howard and Wayne have grown Hartville Hardware into a true retail destination and are well-deserving of our highest level of recognition. We have heartfelt gratitude for what both men do, not only for our local economy, but also for the people of our community and many of our local charitable organizations," stated Chip Weisel, President.

The single ticket price is $35.00 and a table of eight is $250.00. These prices are in effect until February 13, after which the cost will increase to $40.00 and $300.00. Registration and payment in advance are required for this event and the deadline to register is February 20, 2022. There is no walk-up registration.
